Fighting For Freedom One Mind At A Time
After filling up my G1's phone book with a seemingly endless supply of phone numbers and ccalling me 4 or 5 times a week for the last few months, I decided to take the amazingly annoying "Your car warranty is about to expire..." call. I listened to the entire pre-recorded message and pressed "1" to speak to a representative. I pretended to be very excited about their offer and gave them a fake name when the call center employee picked up. He asked me what the year and model car I drive to make sure my "vehicle qualifies for the special offer." Then, I told him that I drive a 1972 Chevrolet Nova, and I had not been able to find a warranty company that was willing to cover it. His previously upbeat tone changed quickly as he verified with me the year and model. When I confirmed it, he stated that I did not "qualify" for their offer, and that my phone number would be taken off their lists. He apologized, not realizing that the removal was actually my end goal. Since that conversation, I have not received a single phone
robo-call about my car warranty. So, it looks like a couple little white lies ended my one-sided conversations with them.
