Fighting For Freedom One Mind At A Time
The last few nights, I have stayed up a little "too late," and as I was winding down, I watched television from bed. Since I don't pay for a cable package, I am limited to a sparse selection of about 15 channels.
Among those is the Ion network, who features a gentleman that sells knives QVC-style. For those of you familiar with the Fox animated series, King of the Hill," you will recognize his voice almost immediately as VERY similar to Hank's friend, Dale Gribbel.
Like many of you (I hope), I do not have a lot of knowledge about knives and knife accessories, so maybe his pitch is aimed at all of the knife aficionados that are watching Ion at 3 or 4 AM four nights. Thus far, I have learned:
- "Dale" knows A LOT about knife sheath appraisal, and whatever deal he's pitching, the sheath is worth more than the price you pay.
- It seems that there is something I cannot grasp about the retail/wholesale knife market, because if the deal includes giving away a sheath that is more valuable than the price of the kife/sheath combo, why not just sell the sheathes at retail and stop giving them away with the knives that he is "in love" with?
- My expectations for businesses are too high.
- Those expectations are the reason that Wal-Mart won't hire me to manage one of their stores.
I don't mean to make this guy's business sound like a waste of time, because it is not. I also don't want you to miss out on this spectacular opportunity, knives do it for you.
I have only seen the guy with longer hair and mustache hawk these knives.
